It's Launch time!

Hi all! Just a wee reminder to get your lovely selves down to Clonmany Market House tomorrow from 11am onwards. We've an action packed day planned and it'd be amazing to have as many people as possible there to get the ball rolling. Spinning, knitting, wooly chat and tea and buns.

Sure what more could you ask for of a Saturday?

Launch Looming (pun alert)

We're getting terribly excited in the lead up to the Launch this Saturday. The studio will be buzzing!
There'll be free spinning lessons on all of our wheels and also on the drop spindle. You can also check out some of the spinning that's been happening in the studio over the last couple of weeks. We've got some beautiful local wool spun up and ply-ed so if you fancy trying your hand at knitting with local wool you're more than welcome. We were also lucky enough to try out spinning with some local alpaca fleece and it's just beautiful; so soft and delicate. There's even some soya spun up and waiting to be ply-ed with some charcoal bamboo tops. Yummy.

There'll be some stitching on the couch with the Yarn Spinners Knitting Circle so bring your projects and get settled in with a cuppa and your needles or come along for a lesson in picking up your first stitch on knitting needles or even a crochet hook. We're happy to take beginners and get them hooked (pun intended, sorry).

Hope to see you all there!

Woolly Beginnings

Greetings!
I thought we might as well start blogging our woolly adventures so you can all see what we're up to in the studio in the run up to the launch on the 15th of Oct.
So far we've got the space together and have been happily spinning away for a couple of weeks. There are currently three spinning wheels set up in the space for people to try their hand at: the lovely Ashford that has been such a stalwart in our endeavors so far, the Kromski Mazurka and a wonderful wheel made from recycled water pipe and wood. The place is rapidly filling up with all sorts of local wool from Suffolk and Texel to some amazingly soft alpaca. It's been such fun trying our hand at all these different types of fibre.
Currently we're open three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and everyone is welcome to drop in and spin/knit/drink tea with us. See you at the Market House, Clonmany some day soon :)
